I completed the Bachelor of Science Master of Science (BSMS) dual degree at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune in 2018. For my Master's thesis, I worked at Harvard Medical School on non-invasive brain stimulation markers for cognitive decline in Alzheimer's dementia. I completed a second Master's from the Duke Global Health Institute in 2021, working on mapping surgical care access in rural India for which I received an honorary mention in Postgrad Awards 2022 by FindAMasters, UK. At ASAR, I focus on systems modeling to investigate socioeconomic disparities, healthcare access, and population-level mental health problems. I also work as a researcher at Duke University School of Medicine on two different themes. I co-lead the Bass Connections Team with Drs. Catherine Staton and Joao Vissoci investigating cultural variations and computational mechanisms underlying individual alcohol use behaviors. Second, I work with Dr. Tamara Fitzgerald on improving access to gasless laparoscopy in low-income countries. I am currently a Fellow for the Lancet Citizens' Commission on ‘Reimagining India’s Health System’ working with the Human Resources Workstream. I was a member of the ‘Indian Academy of Pediatrics COVID-19 Task Force for School Reopening’ in 2021. My work has been published in Lancet, Lancet Global Health, JAMA Surgery, BMJ Global Health, and Lancet Regional Health - Southeast Asia among other high-impact academic journals.
